The stuff was very helpful with finding transportation, and suggesting places visit.

The location is very local, on the beach there were fishing nets what makes it risky swimming there.

We booked a sea view room on the second floor. The view is amazing. The owner is very friendly. He helps us book our tour and taxi at much cheaper price than the market price. The hotel has access to its own beach at the backyard, lounge chairs and so on.

Friendly people, very helpful. Nice and confortable place.

Location is ok but it is great if you have a motorbike to go around otherwise you need taxi/grab

Poplar Resort is an absolute hidden gem in Phu Quoc! From the moment we arrived, the beautiful owners made us feel like family. They go above and beyond to help with everything — from arranging laundry and cooking up the most delicious fresh seafood dinners, to organizing discounted tickets for local attractions. Nothing is ever too much trouble!The atmosphere is truly special here. The resort is home to some gorgeous, friendly rescue animals that make the place feel extra warm and welcoming. Every evening we were treated to breathtaking sunsets, and waking up in the morning to the sight of cows strolling along the beach was just magical.The location is fantastic — close to the fresh food markets and local eateries, yet still peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and the beds are incredibly comfortable (we slept so well!).If you’re looking for an authentic, heartwarming stay with wonderful hosts, beautiful surroundings, and unbeatable hospitality, Poplar Resort is the place to be. We can’t wait to come back! ❤️

All the pictures on booking.com is a lie! We expected a hotel were we could relax on a patio or terrace, while enjoying the view of a beach surrounded by local atmosphere.However, this was not at all an option. Beach: it was full of trash (literally it looked like a trash station)Patio/terrace: there are no sunbeds or umbrellas liked shown on the pictures. All you get is large dining tables taking up all the space.Palm trees: there is a beautiful beach with palm trees shown on the pictures, these trees do not exist and have never!Room: was fine when we came, but not cleaned once during our stay. One time they asked us if we wanted cleaning, but they asked late in the afternoon after coming back from a long day (seemed like they just didn't want to do anything).Seaview room: these are placed right in front of tables that anyone can use, while the whole wall turning outside is a giant window, which means no privacy or have a dark room where you can't see the Seaview you paid for.Noise: extreme partying by neighbors, starting early in the morning. We were told that it was the fishermen coming back after long time in the sea. I guess this is what it is, but maybe give your guests a heads up, since this is extent disturbing on a vacation.Expect nothing like the pictures, no option to relax (except in your bed) and in general a stressful stay.

The owner was super friendly and helped in every aspect. The room was clean as well. He also helped us plan activities to do every day.

The resort owner is very helpful and speaks Chinese which help. I was given a room at level 1 and nearest to the reception and the room sound proofing is not really good so can hear voices during the rest hours. After all this resort is near to many local food places and only about 30mins drive from the airport so I would consider it is worth staying given the price. Do note that the beach in front of the resort is not meant for swimming though.

Pleasant accommodation right on the beach. The great and helpful owner arranged for a neighbor with a motorcycle, who drove me around the entire island. Every morning, the owner planned a day trip with me, called the neighbor with the motorcycle, and off we went. It was really great.

The staff is Extremely helpful and kind. It’s easy to communicate in English. The hotel is very well maintained and clean.

The location is on the side of the city. Restaurants nearby are pretty expensive and not good. Sea in this area is rather dedicated to fisherman’s, not for swimming.

the place is unfortunately noisy because the neighborhood often has partys and the music is loud.

It’s clean and comfortable for the whole family. The owner was very helpful and kind. They helped us booked our tickets for the Hon Thom Cable car with lunch buffet. Amazing location to watch sunset on the beach. ?

The rooms are spacious, the ac works good, and there is nice view from the second floor balcony.

There was constant noise from the ceiling, we couldn't figure out what it was from.On the first night the ac was dripping all over the floor but they switched our rooms.The hotel is located 15 minute drive from the center, the market, and from a clean beach.The owner tried to scam us with the taxis: we ordered a grab taxi and he offered to text the driver the exact location of the hotel. After I checked what he wrote him, Apparently he wrote him something in vietnamese so he would cancel the drive and we will order a taxi from him to earn some more money.

The room was clean, and the location was quiet, perfect for relaxing. The owner is also very friendly and helpful.

The back of the property facing the beach is a bit rundown due to the sea air.

First of all, this hotel was quite an affordable and it was worth every penny I spent on it. It's in the Duong Dong, which is the central district of the island. Nice beach view, cheap markets around, and the owner/manager of this hotel was very hospitable and helpful man. I enjoyed my stay at Poplar Resort very much
